BGCEL Babson Global Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership
The Babson Global Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (BGCEL) at MBSC was established through a gift from Lockheed Martin under the umbrella of the Economic Offset Program in KSA. BGCEL’s mission to promote a sustainable entrepreneurial leadership culture and ecosystem in KSA and the surrounding region. To advance its mission, BGCEL facilitates entrepreneurship research, education, and outreach initiatives serving the business, education, and public sectors. In addition, BGCEL supports global experiential learning opportunities in the MENA region. Babson Global’s mission is to put the power of entrepreneurship, as the greatest force for social and economic value creation, in the hands of as many people in the world as we can. Our goal is to improve higher education and promote economic development by serving local populations not typically touched by Babson College’s undergraduate, graduate, and professional development programs. As one of its signature initiatives, BGCEL annually sponsors the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) KSA National Report. GEM is the world’s foremost study of entrepreneurship, serving as a trusted resource for governments and organizations around the world to help inform decision-making to improve the quantity and quality of the entrepreneurial activity. The GEM KSA National Report provides a comprehensive profile of entrepreneurship in KSA, measuring societal attitudes, self-perceptions, affiliations relative to entrepreneurship, and profiles of entrepreneurs. Annual launch events hosted by MBSC feature entrepreneurs and experts to shed light on the survey’s findings and conditions in KSA.
